There are two first league football clubs in the area :

  • l'OGC Nice
stadium Allianz Riviera, Nort East of Nice (highway exit St Isidore)
  • l'AS Monaco
    stadium Louis II in Monaco

If you don't know the french championship, let say that in 2019-2020, Monaco and Nice have the same level, in the middle of the ranking.

If you come from the wild west we remind you that this is soccer.

Public transportation

The streetcar (line 3) takes you to the stadium. If you come from the airport, it's direct if there is no match. If you come from the city center, there is one connection from line 2.

In case of a match, the line 3 changes and starts, not from the airport, but from the city center (Jean Médecin), linking it directly to the stadium.

There is also a special bus line (with the usual pricing) leaving from the "lycée Massena" bus stop, and going to the stadium via the Promenade des Anglais.

Special bus lines open from Saint-Jeannet (line F55), Plan-du-Var (line F59), Aspremont (line F62), Carros (line F70), Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat (line F81) , Levens (line F89) et Vence (line F94). If you come by train get off at Nice St Augustin and then take the streetcar, line 3.

In Monaco the stadium is a 20mn walk from the station. Use the Fontvieille exit. By bus it's the line #4, ste devote square.

Accommodation

Use this link to find a room near the stadium.
Beware. In the hotels selection you'll find rooms in St Laurent du Var. They may be very close from the stadium as the crows fly. But St Laurent is on the opposite side of the Var River and you may have to detour a lot to go to the stadium. The road bridges are located on the river mouth. The bridge in front of the stadium is the freeway's one and you can't go to St Laurent using it. Pay attention to the maps and choose accordingly.

If you want to see a match in Monaco, taking into account the prices of the hotels in this country, you may save money by staying in Nice near the station and going to Monaco by train (or by bus, which is longer). For the hotels in Monaco click here.
