The museum is located inside the archological site and roman ruins are still visible around it : arena, baths... This is not Roma nonetheless, nor Orange and the ruins are much more modest. Most of the building are not higher than the ground any longer. (The arena and the baths are exceptions to this rule.)
The museum houses an exhibition about the Roman city, the life of its inhabitants, and it will enable you to vizualise and imagine the city in the modern background.
A park located next to the museum is a nice place for a walk where children will be able to play. The museum is also next to the Matisse museum and the Roman arena
The museum entrance ticket entitles you to enter 2 other museums within 48 hours at no extra cost : the prehistory Terra Amata museum and the Natural History museum.
