The "202" is the road going along the left bank of the Var River to the Allianz Riviera stadium, the Lingostiere shopping center, the hinterland valleys and further, to Digne and Grenoble. It used to be the N202 road, which explains its name. Now officially it's the "Boulevard du Mercantour".
Now it is jammed with roundabouts and the speed is limited to 70 or 50km/h. That's why the 202 bis (M6202 bis) was built on the other side of the river. It's a freeway.
